Hi, my car is a 2001 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. The fan control on the dashboard is stuck on high, and only works if I jiggle it ever so slightly. Today it didn’t go on at all until I’d driven for 15 minutes.
I checked the fuses and they appear to be ok. Any ideas?

If wiggling the switch makes it work, the cause is right there not elsewhere. The switch is broken.

I doubt it. There are tricks to getting certain parts of the dash apart. The shop manual should tell the mechanic how to best gain access to that switch.

Just an update- the mechanic took the fan switch thing out and found that part of it had been burned form some sort of electrical issue. So it's getting replaced
