Hello everyone!

I always search stuff about my car and figured I may as well sign up so I can ask things myself, etc.

My grandma bought her 2002 Subaru Outback H6-3.0 L.L. Bean Edition new in California, and she left it to me 12 years later in 2014 with 152,325 well-cared for miles on it. I've since driven it from San Francisco home to Anchorage, Alaska (see mid-trip photo below :29:), and tacked on a little over 41,000 miles since then.

So far I've replaced the fuel pump, a wheel bearing, rotors/pads*, and did some recommended tune-up maintenance and regular full-synthetic oil changes.

*Replaced rotors and pads June 2016, started pulsing again, mechanic says "he's never seen this" before on cars in their garage, turned rotors, began pulsing again, replacing rotors again tomorrow with "next-level up rotors." I've been looking through threads regarding this and it seems everyone has a different opinion!
Anyways! I do love my car, everything's stock, nothing really wrong with it, besides the brake issue. Couple door dings and a dent in the rear-passenger quarter panel under the light, and a fluid-filled (but not leaking) auto-dimming rear-view mirror

Welcome aboard, Alaska is one of my favorite places on Earth and God willing I'll be able to move back there some day. My last journey up your way landed me in Juneau and I had a truly life altering experience there. Would love to go back there but I would really like to go up on the mainland in Anchorage above all else.

Don't sell yourself short, the interior is where it's at. ;)

/grew up in Fairbanks, hoping to move back someday...

//Do they still use the old joke about Las Anchorage only being a short trip from Alaska?
