Need a gas line removal tool. A couple of bucks at your local auto parts store. Slides over the line in front of the green ring. Push the green ring into the fitting and the lines pull apart.

You can use 2 tiny flatheads on either side and push in the little retainer tabs. I am sure the proper tool makes it much easier.

what was that he said about 90*? - are the locking tabs in a specific orientation?

are there any o-rings that need to be replaced in those things? any lube required when put back together? do they just push together?

No the tabs can be orientated any way, usually they have a memory from the hose. But the plastic clip will rotate inside the coupler to ant orientation.

There is an o-ring inside the coupler. O have never used any grease, or replaced any of them. The o-ring seats against a should and the whole thing is compressed by the clip and coupler. It's a b*tch of a design that works really well.

They are like shark bite plumbing fittings. There is an o-ring as part of the assembly but nothing that should need to be lubed. Just clean everything up before snapping back together.
