How do I siphon gas from a 2012 Outback

If Hurricane Sandy ends up as bad as they are predicting, I may be needing more gas for my portable generator. Is there any way to safely either siphon or hook into full pump to extract gas from my 2012 Outback? It is my understanding that the backflow valve prevents siphioning.

I wonder if you could disconnect the fuel return line, turn the car on, and collect the fuel that would otherwise be sent back to the tank. I'm pretty sure that siphoning would be near impossible. If you really think you need to do that, that's the only way I can think of. You better find a hose to extend the fuel return line though.
