Hi,

I have a 2011 Outback with a Mitsuba rear wiper and cannot find a release tag (like the front wiper blades have). Can anyone tell me how to remove this blade. I'd like to replace it with a winter blade.

Thanks

Hmmm, I just resorted to RTFM, (Reading The Freakin Manual), and it say to (1) Raise the wiper arm off the rear window and (2) Turn the wiper blade assembly counterclockwise.

My blade has an cutout in it about 2 1/4" x 1/2 ". The arm has a tongue that fits snugly into this recess. I'm quite sure that if I turned my wiper blade assembly something would break.

Does anyone have any clues?

Thanks

Ok, I've found the answer.
(1) remove the blade rubber
(2) Pivot the blade on the arm so that the blade is at right angles to the arm (there is some resistance to this)
(3) Blade will then pop off.

I don't have to remocve the rubber on our 03, just rotate to about 80degs or so and the 'eccentric shaped' rod on the blade pulls out of a slot on the arm.

not sure if 11 is different than 03 though. I could see where pulling the rubber may make it slightly easier. but , not required for our OB.
