How to turn off ignition/door ajar lights?

Hey everyone! So I just bought an 02 outback and have been camping in it quite a bit.

It's hot where I live, so at night I've been leaving the windows down and the hatch open so that I can get some air flow to keep cool.

Problem is, the lighted ring around my ignition as well as the ajar door indicator lights (next to my speedometer) stay on as long as I have my hatch open.

What would be the best way to resolve this issue? I'd rather not disconnect the battery at night. Is there a fuse I can pull while I sleep? Or a secret button that shuts all interior light off?

Please help!

No "secret button". Fuse #12 (15 Amps) in the engine compartment fuse box is an "always on" power source for the interior lighting and some other functions such as the clock and radio presets. (See page 12-10, 12-11 of the Owners Manual.) It can be pulled, but you will also lose the clock and radio settings, as well as the interior lights (e.g. ceiling light).
might be a way to create a switch in the wiring from the hatch's sensor - something creative along those lines....fool the system into thinking the hatch is closed.
