Well, not really but Mercedes is borrowing Subaru's dog-friendly ad campaign.

It is well done. Now I want a Mec. And a dog. And a stylish wife/gf.

I suppose I will just stick with the XTs and Rosie.

It would have been more realistic if the stressed-out dog nervous about a car ride with strangers puked and crapped all over the back seats. Not sure if that would help sales numbers though.

Mercedes has a habit of doing knockoffs on their commercials. And in the 1990s they re-used a popular song about Mercedes in their commercials, really missing the point that it was satire directed at them that was all behind the original. Here's one:


Or maybe they didn't miss it and just figured people didn't understand the satire.

There's a Kia commercal running now that's a direct ripoff. The FIFA commercial is about a soccer kid that grows up getting hauled to team events by the car, and gets handed the keys to drive it as a teenager. Where have I seen that before? The hamsters were stupid, but at least they were original.
