We bought this 2008 Tribeca with 90K. I never looked at the serp belt and puley . At 100K the idler pulley parted and took the belt with it.
The shaft on which it rides is slightly damaged. The new pulley rides on it OK but it's not as snug as it should be.

i expect problems in the future. It looks like the mount is bolted on but i could not tell how much i would have to remove to get to it. And i don't know what to search for to find a replacement,

Any other Subarus use the same hardware? Not many Tribecas in the junkyard.

thanks

I think the part you're talking about is actually the bracket for the air conditioning compressor. It also has a boss to mount the idler.

The same system of parts was used in the 2010-2014 Outback 3.6R.
