Update. Just been quoted 12 hours labour by local garage to change the inner tie rods. Looks like a normal removal tool doesn't fit in the space around the inner ball joint and the whole subframe has to come off!!!! Has anyone had these done on a 2011? There must be a tool that will fit, surely?
Doh! Just realised that putting the wheels at full lock allows much better access to the inner knuckle, so tool should be ok. Makes you wonder why the garage mechanics didnt notice

My turbos require the removal of a subframe-tie-plate. Same as if you were going to remove the steering rack. Then the access is still only in one specific spot, on either side.
