Quick question. Does anyone know the bolt size that goes from the intercooler to the turbo? I’ve heard M8-1.25 and M10-1.25???

I stripped the bolt holes in the turbo. I am going to helicoil it and then put in new bolts and nuts.

Thanks.

It's M8 x 1.25

And I would strongly suggest converting to studs:

I have those in mine and stainless lock nuts. No more stripping out expensive turbos!

There's a pic in my post, with a link to where I got them. Belmetric.com

Must not have went through.

I bought the 46mm long double ended stainless stud.

Sorry it came through on my end I thought that was like a stock pic. My bad. Lol.

Sweet. Appreciate it. I limped my car to work and am going to have to jerry rig a fix here with a bolt and a nut.

Did you strip yours out or make a preemptive strike?

Lol, it was the stock pic from their site... didn't feel like searching for the pic. Looks exactly the same.

It was preemptive because I knew I was going to be taking my TMIC on and off a bunch, plus initially I needed a spacer so I had some 60mm studs in it for a while.

I bought a whole selection of different sizes.

Dumb question. Is the middle part without threads thin enough to fit through both holes. And thanks for your prompt help.

Yes...

Same diameter as the OD of the thread peaks...

I can’t find the exact match but found these. I am going to try them first. Do you have to have clean threads on the turbo side being as there will be studs?

You should be fine...but something like brake cleaner, then and lock-tite on the stud threads into the turbo flange is a fine idea...

Ya just to be 100% sure I ordered some helicoil set (M8x1.25)for $25. I found some 46mm long M8-1.25 setup studs for $5 and 4 of the lock nuts for $1. Going to compare that price from McMaster to belmtric and go from there. I’ll probably replace the o ring while I’m in there.

On a side note is it normal to have a little oil in the intercooler?
