Who knows, people freak out when the price of oil goes up fifty cents, what do you think will happen if they ration it, even if it is diesel?

Just not expecting ANYTHING on peak oil here ;)

I lived in Stockholm Sweden for two years and the folks I met there were intelligent and introspective. This article is not policy but speculation. The English translation is a bit loose. Sweden is a socialist country and despite the vilification of socialism here in the USA (reminds me of McCarthy and the communist in the 1950's), their society and population is based on "The greatest good for the greatest number." They pay taxes out the wazoo in order to provide social services for everyone. Do not start an "Obamacare" thread here please. The fact is, the US would not allow such a program whereas the Swedes accept and gladly participate because the way their society is designed. There are tons of "compare and contrast" issues in the news every day. But in the end we are projecting American ideas on a society that does not live by them. Don't worry, ain't gonna happen here.

Read this article and decide for yourself .....
The physical universe doesn't give a rat's rump about personal (or mob) "opinion."

...it must be true -- I read it on The Intertubes!

I always figured socialism works in places like Sweden because they are basically all middle class. When you have a large amount of hard workers and a small amount of free loaders it works great, but that's not how it would work here.

It's like the chicken or the egg: Does Socialism work there because they are all middle class? OR Are they all middle class because of Socialism? Still happy to be back here in the U.S.
