Subaru's web page on Starlink Safety Plus says you can use it to call for a jump start if your battery is dead. But according to a Subaru salesman, Starlink won't work with a dead battery. So, is Subaru misleading the public on this?

Edit: I contacted Subaru with this question and here's their response:

If the main vehicle battery goes dead, the Starlink Telematics module does have a 5-volt back up battery.

So, hopefully 5 volts is enough power to get a message out.

I think it's just pretty much useless. Another way for car manufactures to separate you from your money.
