i have my 16 limited with moon roof, and during heavy rain, when i slide back the shade i can feel water collecting on the black piece and around the rubber. its in the area dead center towards the back of the car. dealer says the car is not leaking, and the drain plugs are clear, but ive never had a moon roof collect water like that. they said since the liner isnt stained, its not a problem.

any suggestion would be appreciated.

I'd find another dealer. And make sure you have it written on record somewhere so if they keep pushing it off until your warranty is out, subaru itself will still cover it. You need the paper trail so they see that it was a problem you tried to get fixed before warranty ran out.

Document everything!

Photos, if they show the moisture

Dates and times of visits to get something done. Then, a followup email to the service manager so there's a paper trail.

If no dealership will address the problem, contact SOA and supply the documentation. You should get some response then!

If it were me, I would get the garden hose out and flood the moonroof. Look for where the water is coming through.

You got to be certain of your argument and verify it's not condensation.

Sadly, it looks like it's your burden to determine what's going on and then show the dealer the problem.......

i though it was condensation too, but its too much water for it to be that. its a nice small puddle in the middle, and it dosent do it on light rain. on down pours. the other day, it started to down poor and after say 2 minutes, i had the water issue and it got worse the longer and heavier it rained.

sadly though, i have called soa, and they dont seem to care much. gonna reach out and get the dealers side of the story and will call me back when they do. the dealer i go to, is the dealer that originally sold the car. i purchased it used from a honda dealer. i took it in for a checkup and was told since they originally sold the car and all work was done there, i would be treated the same as if i purchased from them. monday, i was in for the 3rd time for leaks within a week. 1st time, no leak with 1 hour of hose, no stains no issues. showed them pictures. they have to outsource to leak specialist, and needed to keep car. couldnt leave the car, as i needed it for work. i made appoint for friday, and 730 that morning got a text, no cars available, turns out never made leak specialist appointment.... blown off for 4 hours. told bring it in monday. monday, take car in... loaner had smoker as previous driver. called liar and told car ok. im sensitive to second hand smoke, so i couldnt drive it. told by general sales manager, i was rude and go back to honda.

ive got pics and stuff in writing. heck, i got a bubble growing on my dash due to heat that is documented clearly in a picture, but the service manager cant see it. subie field tech cant amazingly see it, but when you show them a pic they see. so nothing is being done.

all this is in writing with me being the one who is refusing service as i couldnt leave car and wouldnt take rental. go figure!

Just because you purchased from them DOES NOT mean you have to bring it to them for service. I dont know your mileage but it should still be under warranty. You can bring to ANY subaru dealer to have it checked out. SOA will probably be more helpful if you went to a subaru dealer.

this was the subaru dealer who basically threw me out over a loaner car. it had a smoker smell to it. the car was originally put into service by this subaru dealer, which is why i went to them instead of honda. its the subaru dealer who dosent want to be bothered with me.

Gotcha. I misunderstood. I thought you were bringing it to Honda. In that case just find a better dealer. Not sure where you live but in CT they're all over the place.
