I've seen other threads on ham radios but a lot of them were kinda old.

Anyway I've been doing some reading on amature radio and am thinking about studying for a license. So now I'm thinking about getting a cheap CB radio until I get a license.

But what setup do you have for your radio? Pics or lists welcome!

I've read some threads that pointed out having a CB is helpful to communicate with truckers re: avoiding traffic and knowing where speed traps are located. Any truth in this or is CB less widely used nowadays?

CBs are still used it less common now but on freeways, highways, interstates you can still find plenty who still use it. The only problem with a CB is limited range in some places you're lucky to get 2 miles in any direction
