300 hp increase with minor mod...

just kidding, but now that you are here...

im looking for some information on body lifts cars in general. My brother raised his jeep and said there was more to jacking it up than putting spacers in. I think he told me but i was lookin around and thought i might have to mess with the exhaust, but anyone done this to a subaru before?

***(Admin/Mod Note) On a serious note, please don't BS around like that with the misleading title. That is considered as spam :14: which is not allowed here. Honest mistake, fair warning for now. That being said I will change the title, just stick to putting in a regular question a I can guarantee that I'll read it no matter what it is even if no one else does. I read everything on here ;)

Anyway, you can find body lifts for just about everything on any 4x4 website. As for Subaru specific ones they ONLY place you'll find them is at iSR Performance. I'll tell you though they have crappy customer service, but you won't find a lift kit for a Subaru anywhere else.

check thishttp://www.scorpionsubaru.com/
very reputable and widely used in OZ I believe that some one imports these directly into US

OR thishttp://users.bigpond.com/subaxtreme/index.htm
again highly recommended I speak from experience with this particular company
Jody is in the process of manufacturing new type of lift kits for the OB has already marketed the similar product for the forrester

I've seen people drop in subaru forester struts and springs into outbacks and get some decent lift (I estimate about 3-4 inches). There are several guys on dirtyimpreza.com that have done this with great results. From what they've told me the front struts drop right in but the rear struts need a few minor modifications. As for specifics im not entirely sure as to what is needed to be done to the rear struts but im awaiting a responce from a fellow that has done it a couple times to a few Outback sports. I've attached a photo the fellow sent me of his personal 96' OBS with the forester struts/springs installed.

Blu has 3" lift on him.

I just had to disconnect one exhaust hanger. I got my kit from Allied Armament.

I was always curious... The allied armament kit says it's a 4" lift that replaces the factory 2.5" lift. I figured this would only net you 1.5" of lift on an outback, but it appears blu is lifted more than that. You think you got a full 3 in of lift out of their kit?

I was given the pic and information by Zap from dirtyimpreza... he said and I quote:

I used struts and springs from a 96 Legacy Outback. I think the top hats are required from the L/OB to accomodate the wider springs.
A little beating on the wall behind the springs was necessary in the rear to keep them from rubbing.
Other than that, it all just bolted right up.
Here's a couple links to discussion about this on another forum. ie: Ultimate Subaru Message Board.

Here's an FAQ that I put together there, scroll down for the OBS stuff.

This write-up is linked in that FAQ,
(note that I don't think it's necessary to undo the brakes, you can just cut the bracket that holds the line, bend it and then bend it back in place for the little clip)

Good luck,
