It could be many things, but I would look at the antenna adapter that you used first. In general the aftermarket puts less effort into making the tuner as good as the OEM's since generally you are buying a new aftermarket radio for one or many particular features not found in the OEM piece. I have a Kenwood in our OB and think that the tuner is decent, though its rare that I actually use it. Between the Sirius and iPod options I don't need the tuner.
