Hey, all -

I know this has been requested before, but I'll try again:

I'm looking for a source for the mushroom anchors needed to install cargo nets in the rear. I bought a net at AutoZone which came with some sort of mounting hardware, but I managed to lose the hardware before I got around to installing it.:17: So now I have a very nice net with no good way to attach it.

Does anyone have a source for the mushroom anchors that come with Subaru nets? Or, barring that, is there anyone out there with some extra anchors they'd be willing to sell?

If all else fails, you can just buy a 2010 Subaru rear net for $22.17 plus shipping. Two anchors come with it. Or, buy the 2010 side nets for $31.68 and get four anchors. Available from here: Utility and Convenience, SubaruGenuineParts.com

Go to page 2 for the side nets. The 2010 nets will fit all Gen 4 Outbacks. Just a wider web than the ones advertised for 2011/2012. And, these nets have the clips to fit the hooks at the bottom and the loops to fit the mushroom anchors at the top.

If we had a good picture of one not mounted (including the hardware) and the instructions, I am sure I/we could find a substitute from Lowes or a similar store. Any volunteers? Please? Thanks.

Good luck. However, these are specialty hardware items for auto manufacturers and may not be easy to find at a retail store. I have looked around Internet using many search terms and the closest thing I found was this:

I think the ford part is not a mushroom type anchor, i think it screws into something on the other side.

I suspect you are correct and this will not work for the Subaru. Also, look at the price. For two of these you could buy the whole OEM net with anchors. Thanks for pointing this out. Reminds us to be really careful when choosing aftermarket or other maker's parts.

Thanks. I was trying to figure out the reason for the name. It both looks like a mushroom and the fastener mushrooms out to mount on the panel. This is a great start. Thanks. :29:

I just bought a 2013 Outback and the sales man threw in cargo nets like I wanted, but he did not install them, which means I do not have the anchors for the nets. Is there any way to get any anchors without buying more nets?

I was able to get the mushroom plugs for 7.00 from the dealer. They come as a set of 2 plugs so you will need one pack for each side. Easy install.
