Low Beam Bulb BLEW--How to adjust

4667 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  plain OM
So I am away for the holidays and my bulb blew, of coarse! I am well aware of the drama to replace it, and will do so next week. I am replacing them with the Philips X Treme Vision 55w H7 bulbs.

My questions is do I need to adjust them? If so, where is the adjustment on the headlight as there is no room back there to get a screwdriver and adjust...but maybe I am missing something? Thanks for the help in advance.

According to this thing, maybe.

NOTE
. If headlight aiming is required, consult
your SUBARU dealer for proper
adjustment of the headlight aim.
. It may be difficult to replace the
bulbs. We recommend that you have
the bulbs replaced by your SUBARU
dealer if necessary.
Adjustment for vertical?
That is located on the drivers side in front of the battery an 8mm bolt with large washer but it is slanted toward the light if you are looking at the light through a small gap in the battery to fender. Takes an extension and swivel to get to it. Pass side take the snorkle to airfilter out and you can use a screw driver to turn the stared wheel same location as the drivers side. It becomes obvious once you look hard at the location. CW is up CCW is down...
So is it necessary to adjust, or should it just be a plug and play, so to speak?
The design of the bulb and the headlight assembly where it fits is supposed to provide for a "plug-and-play" replacement.

The focus of the headlight should be the same as long as the replacement bulb is the same shape and size, and the position of the headlight assembly isn't changed.

Be careful not to touch the glass part of the new bulb as this, apparently, will cause the bulb to fail prematurely.
