I have a minor stress crack. I missed a bolt, started prying the cover off, and noticed a minor crack around the area of the missed bolt. It seems superficial and cant be seen from the outside. Is it safe to run?

EDIT

The crack is only visible from the inner side of the cover, the nonexposed side.

You were worried enough to post here. The suggestion made by @cardoc is sound; why not just do it?

It's not like a timing belt that runs dry - a timing chain is oiled. The cost is very high if a hole suddenly opens up in the cover and it quickly discharges all of your oil.

Its a hairline crack... do you think I need to even worry? @cardoc
The engine vibrates while running, on top of the vibration and jouncing from driving. Any crack in any material under stress only worsens. Filling it in will help prevent it from increasing in size or getting through the cover. Like filling in a rock chip on your windshield. When you first get the chip, its not all the way through. Driving around creates the shock that makes the chip turn in to a crack.
