I get this crap almost every day that I browse this forum. After looking at a few threads, I hit the back button and nothing happens. Then I look at the recent history list and it is full from top to botom with this address repeated over and over:

http://pubads.g.doubleclick.net/gampad

I don't know where this comes from, but it really PISSES ME OFF!!!!!:banghead:

I never get this BS on any other web site.

I have to close IE and re-open it to get back to the forum.

I have nothing but problems with IE.
I ended up downloading Opera Browser, which has formatting problems on certain sites, and Google Chrome, which seems to work the best out of all three.

IE would lock up with every single mouse click on FaceBook. At least I can browse FB now without any lockups at all with Chrome.

I have been having this problem for a while on this site only. I just put http://pubads.g.doubleclick.net in Internet Explorer, tools, internet options, security, restricted sites and problem is gone.

same issue here in both IE and FireFox. Also, the number of Adds seems to be a bit excessive and can cause some threads to take a while to load.

I get the same problem, consistently. Seems that there are some ads that don't load well.

I just assume it's my work firewall that doesn't like an ad for some reason or the other. I get the same error if I visit subaruforester.org (another autoguide site) and a few other sponsored vbulletein forums. It obviously has something to do with all the ads this site displays. One way I have been combatting it lately is to wait until the page loads, but before the rest of the adds and crap processes, then hit the X on my bar to stop the extra stuff from loading, as the page and content loads first then the ads and tracking cookies load.

Never had the problem with legacygt.com when I used to frequent it, but it's a private run site and much less ads. If you donate, they are all removed.

I have been wanting to post, but I really wasn't sure what to say, as I just assumed it was my work firewalls. I never have the problem at home, but then again at home I have a Mac and use Chrome or Safari.

edit: for help with diagnosing, I was just redirected here (http://a.rfihub.com/sed?w=728&h=90&re=14471&pv=0&ra=1943826840.75484636238845&rb=445&ca=&rc=10.3&rd=http%3A%2F%2Fadclick.g.doubleclick.net%2Faclk%253Fsa%253Dl%2526ai%253DCHJjRjhJrUODCF-eGgALL-YDIBM-atdkC39-fxzWr89OZJxABIABQgMfhxARgycapi8Ck2A-CARdjYS1wdWItNzIwNjAyMTU1NDc5MzA0OKABs-zH6wPIAQngAgCoAwGqBL0BT9Ahkl558_FgimuXLyj_59kXxR3iBM_a088JnwMnfdR5xY6UD77yWR6zpJkjE7n0NFruwOpow1vOcU9nHDYAhV6CvekCO0FzGom5H--4_QYgdwusFs-MlJSrdWxIyU_HytuStqVtD-0bCJWLMHA9CEcKIjsZD7eWY4pP8-8sP0Sv4hziPWj-zwaO_9RmMj4OxMaXmp001kuH4j65GULed5o-emhO565SFeWMuHEEPo3VwPIP_PHcRdmdVUIy4AQBgAaH36-J5KfNqV4%2526num%253D1%2526sig%253DAOD64_0G1p7La7J6y-QzhKeUMC60b3WbwA%2526client%253Dca-pub-7206021554793048%2526adurl%253D&ua=&ub=&uc=&ud=&ue=&pa=ppre1943826689493&pb=&pc=&pd=&pg=&ct=1349194382684&co=optimize:false,scoreMicroClicks:0,scoreMicroConversions:10604,mt:1,isAI:false,bB:true,serverId:inw-254,url:inw-254.inw-rtb1.rfihub.net,sej:false,bt:1349194382546,newUser:false&ep=UGsSjgAF4WAKQANnSQA8y74xMdcy-tg3CxT_Ng&ri=506b128e05e160a403674903ccb1&rs=&ai=105429&rt=105817&pe=http%3A%2F%2Fpubads.g.doubleclick.net%2Fgampad%2Fads%3Fcorrelator%3D1026218234870665%26output%3Dhtml%26impl%3Difr%26client%3Dca-pub-7865546952023728%26slotname%3DSubaruOutback_org_728x90_Top_AUTO_Forum%26page_slots%3DSubaruOutback_org_728x90_Top_AUTO_Forum%26cust_params%3Dsitename%253DSubaruOutback.org%2526make%253DSubaru%2526model%253DOutback%2526VS1%253D0%2526VS2%253D1%2526registered%253Dtrue%2526group_id%253D2%2526group_name%253DRegistered%2526forum_id%253D104%2526forum_name%253DGen%2525204%25253A%2525202010-Present%26cookie%3DID%253Db4df9e6dc1c923ff%253AT%253D1346436976%253AS%253DALNI_MZ-MzdAit_EbSV2rRvQG1k9QQhN1w%26url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.subaruoutback.org%252Fforums%252F104-gen-4-2010-present%252F%26ref%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.subaruoutback.org%252Fforums%252F104-gen-4-2010-present%252F48660-non-chipped-key-available.html%26lmt%3D1349194382%26dt%3D1349194382262%26cc%3D100%26color_bg%3DFFFFFF%26color_border%3DFFFFFF%26color_link%3DBB0115%26color_text%3D000000%26color_url%3DBB0115%26) and get an "unable to load" message.

It is Google's display ad server, Doubleclick is a service related to Google AdWords. Running ads on this forum is what pays the bills to keep it running.

Main suggestion would be to not use IE as that is a horrible browser. I personally prefer Chrome, though with Firefox you can do the "ad-blocker" add on and it should prevent ads from displaying anytime you browse any site.

Thanks for the tip Darkanion. I tried that and we'll see if it helps. But I doubt it, since I have the same trouble even if I'm not logged in. But at least I learned how to get rid of those annoying txt ads ;)

You're welcome! Someone mentioned mouse clicks and I remembered those annoying IntelliTXT Ads from when I first started here. It may not be related, but at least you can turn those off. :29:

Wow, now that made a major differance in speed. Thanks. I can live with the adds (and compleatly agree that they need to support the site with them), but sometimes they just get overwelming. There is a point of paying for the site and making it very sluggish and almost unusable.
