with freessm I have 0% reading when I put the alternator cycle % in the monitoring, car is a 2001 could it be because it's not supported by the computer ?

2001 are strange rangers for freessm, (my 2002 H6 works. my 2002 H4 does not,...both made in 2001)

yep, my 2002 H4 freessm can read the ECU only, not the TCU,

my 2002 H6 freessm can read both ECU/ TCU, ...but cars earlier then that are sketchy.

but rom-raider is just a bigger better program, and looking at all data and parameters that it reads when it is hooked up and going properly might give you the solution, even if you don't have it on the scope of discussion right now.
