I just did this install, took 1.5 hours including cleanup and adjusting the angle of the lights. I like them quite a bit but here are my comments:
Installation:
- the kit from TRS only has one ground and one positive which I connected on the driver side as was recommended in the original post.
- an extension to the passenger side was definitely needed, I only used one.
- there is only one plug connecting the wiring harness of the HID system to one OEM plug on the Subaru, which I used the driver side plug; the passenger side plug was not used and I just taped it as another person suggested
- the original post had good mounting positions for the hardware, I deviated only sightly, I used a ton of zip ties
Performance:
- wish I would have gotten the 4300k instead of the temp. the original post recommended?, the tiny hint of blue bothers me, and when the fog's are on, it has a hint of green. Yuck. Get the 4300k.
- definitely need to adjust the lights down quite a bit, there is a little silver bolt just towards the center of the car from the headlights, just behind the DRLs that has a washer on it that has teeth, like a little gear. Clockwise will lower the beam, counterclockwise will raise the beam. Takes several turns.
- cutoff could be more crisp, but I'm quite happy with it despite being a halogen projector. Really not bad.
- slight humming from igniters (amps, as the OP refers to them)
Overall, pleased. Might order the 4300k bulbs anyway. Cheers!
