ok so, lets just say somehow a telephone pole ran out in the middle of the road and busted up my right front fender, and a little bit of the door, in some heavy rain... anyone know the factory price of a new fender? the thought of junkyards just popped into my head but you know how it is...

Can't help with a fender price, but thanks for the heads up on the way telephone poles like to go strolling down the middle of the road in the rain! ;)

MAN! one of those utility poles with a xfrmr on it (not the toy - the electromagnetic device) totaled a '60 T'bird while I was piloting it as a teen. pesky poles never learn do they?

I ran into a pine tree that behaved in a similar manner, except it was in a woods, so I was out-numbered. But I only crunched the turn signal light and put a dent in the soft plastic bumper cover.

If you need a replacement fender, you should be able to use any '96 - '99 Legacy fender. Same with the door, AFAIK.

EagleOutback, I just ordered an Impreza OBS front left for $154 with tax from my local dealer. Due to a gas can that decided to fall of a shelf in the garage...Anyway, not real bad but I was quoted $500-600 to paint it!!Two tone and good paint mathcing I guess. It's coming out of the wife's allowance. Brian

lo siento pero hay un gato en tu pantalones

hey brian
you should see if there are any local Career Centers near your neck of the woods. There are a few around here, and the paint job could practically be done for free. it's a trade off, you get a nice coat of paint and the kids get experience doing it. I usually take my car into an Auto-tech class for any routine or custom maintenance. i dunno, just a thought.:D

If you want to go the junkyard route, try http://www.car-part.com/ - they've been pretty good in the past about finding me the part I need at a decent price. I think a front fender for my 96 OBS was around $75 from them, and the good part is if you're lucky, you might be able to find one in your color.
