Moved to RI recently from GA. Have a 2013 Outback that drinks oil likes it's going out of style (108K), and a '17 Forester that is my wife's commuter car. Also a new F-150.

The Outback will be the winter "beater". Runs great except for the oil and it was purchased new so it's fairly well maintained. Probably rebuild/replace engine when and if the oil consumption gets too ridiculous.

Welcome?

Hey, the oil consumption? PCV replacement and oil formulation or additive may help. get an oil stabilizer.

I bought a 2005 XT, using bad, serious user. 1 qt per 800 miles. Cherry is now stable. Maybe 1/4 quart in 3K miles. Don't harsh on the user, get her in rehab.

Funny. I'll try it. 5/30 oil uses less. The car was purchased new and I "took over" when my wife got her '17 Forester. I'd really like to keep her, even at the expense of a rebuild.
