Hello all, I just bought my first Subaru. It is a 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback with 220,000 miles. I replaced front driver side axle, battery, and will replace radiator tomorrow. I paid $1500 for the car and will only have $250 in repairs. The engine runs great and transmission shifts smooth. I researched the car before I bought it and seems to be an awesome vehicle.Any input on the car from current owners would be appreciated. Cheers, Tim.

If the body is straight you can expect a long life with minimal work.

If you can, find out things like; when was timing belt/water pump/idler and tensioner pulleys changed last. Awesome and dependable cars, but they require maintenance like any other! If you have any doubt about the age of these parts, might be good to go ahead and consider changing them. Might save you unwanted surprises down the road.
