Note: I am in no way affiliated w/ this, just thought I'd pass it on for fellow Suby enthusiasts.

I just received an email regarding a new Subaru only magazine, 'Subiesport Magazine'.
At last! A magazine just for Subaru enthusiasts and owners: SUBIESPORT Magazine! Get the inside scoop on all things Subaru with regular columns from Alex "Imprezer" S., Jamie "Subie Gal" Thomas and Ali "Easy Street" Afshar. Plus professionally written features on road, rally, tuning and touring--Subaru style!

**YOU COULD BE IN THE FIRST ISSUE**
SUBIESPORT is looking for the finest Subarus in the land to appear in our debut Reader Rides section. We figure there has to be some nice rides in the I-Club family. If your Subie is particularly impressive, we may even feature it with a full story in the future. See http://www.subiesport.com for details.

**LAUNCH INFO**
If you sign up early we'll let you have 7-issues for the regular 6-issue price. If for some reason you don't like the magazine, you can cancel your subscription after receiving the first issue for a full refund. You get to keep the special debut issue. This special deal will only be available through the month of July 2004. Issue #1 is scheduled to ship late September 2004. Subscriptions start at $19.99 and are available
online: http://www.midnightcafe.com/sub/signup.php. To subscribe via Check, or for more info visit: http://www.subiesport.com

SUBIESPORT is published bi-monthly by Midnight Cafe Media LLC and is not affiliated with Subaru North America, or its distributors or dealers.
Their website is http://www.subiesport.com/ . They mention if you have a Subaru enthusiast site, contact them and you may make it into the magazine. Maybe someone from here should contact them and get this site listed?

Holy cow! $19.95 is a ton of money for a subscription to a magazine that doesn't even give me 1 issue a month. I love subaru, seriously I do, but I could just visit all those enthusiast sites that they have linked and find all the information that they plan to print for free...

That said, we must get sob.org on that list. I'm surprised scoobymods isn't on it yet.

I absolutely love the "Drive" magazine that I get every couple of months.

Back issue articles are available on Subaru's web site.

That works out to $3.33/issue. If you read Super Street, Import Tuner, or any other tuner mag, you're probably already paying $4.00 an issue for a magazine that covers mainly Honda's and other 'mainstream' imports. This is for something Suburu specific, how many times do you see Outbacks in Super Street, etc? The costs of publishing a magazine devoted to a small niche brand is going to be higher that your average import mag.

Besides, I doubt that you'll find the content that will be in the magazine on the sites listed and even if you did, how much time would you have to devote to finding it?

I'll be signing up, just thought I'd pass along an opportunity for my fellow Suby peeps...

So far nobody had asked to have sob.org added

Anyhow, regarding the pricing issue. At 19.99 we're not really "making" much of anything on subscriptions. Cost of printing, content, postage (!), and transaction fees net about a break-even at that price. And our costs are pretty low, all things considered. Companies like Primedia have the benefit of larger postage discounts and major savings in printing, that we may eventually achieve, but that is quite a ways off.

Thanks to those that have subscribed! We're still on schedule to ship issue #1 on September 30th. We'll be taking subscriptions starting with the debut issue until September 12th.

Cheers,
