I just got it back this week, after it was in the shop 2 weeks for a rear-end collision repair. Now I remember why I got it. It rides SO much better than the Fusion I had as a rental, the seat is so much more comfortable, the transmission is so much better (smoother or nonexistent). Now I know why I really wanted to get it back, I just couldn't stand driving that POS rental compared this lovely beast.

Still working out some of the small details the shop missed, but the primary repair looks good (rear floorpan, rear body reinforcement and bumper cover). Overall, there wasn't any frame damage, just the labor-intensive floor pan and rear body panel replacement. No visible exterior metal had to be touched, just the bumper cover.

Funny. That is the same reason I love my Fusion. Seat are more comfortable than the OB, better power and road handling. The tranie is very smooth compared to my OB.

Most of it is probably you were driving a rental that has been beat to **** by everyone else.
You also have a Gen 3 OB, I have the Gen 4 with the CVT which technically has no shifts. The interior on my Gen 4 OB feels MUCH more refined than the Fusion I had as a rental. Yes, it's a rental so it's been beat on and isn't the highest of trim levels.
