Got her in Dec 07.
Just recently got the funds to start modding her.
So far got the roof rack, Loadwarrior basket, and a full sized spare tire.

I also modded the air intake with a straight pipe going from filter box to the engine.

Soon: OEM Foglights, and a 50/35 tint

Pre Basket:

With Basket:

I'll take a pic of Nymeria with the tire soon.

Are you using the Yakima tire mount?

Do you like it? Do the tire and wheel stay in place pretty well on rough roads?

Yeah it stays on solid. No movement from the tire at all. when i pull on it, the car moves and nothing else.

I'm also using a lock which keeps the twisty thing in place and for security reasons :D . It's a bit much for $80-$90 and i probably could have gone to Home Depot and made something similar for half that price.

are you going to get the shovel attachment/adapter?

i'm just asking :)

i'm considering just to have - lol.

joel
I might if i find them cheap. I'd first do a jack holder over the shovel because the one that comes with the outback is not very good.

As it's mostly a road traveler, a shovel wouldn't do me much good :p

i have a tiny folding shovel, everyone should have one and they take up very little space. paint those wheels or something. it looks like the parking lot at REI is missing one of the outbacks that are there regularly.
The difference is that all my racks and baskets i got offline for cheaper than REI.

Where did you get your shovel? I'm guessing an army surplus store would be good place to look.

With wheels: not enough money to buy new ones. I'm not sure what color to paint the ones i have. (i could always plasti-dip my rims black)

I've mentioned before that tint is on the list.
If i had $4,000 I'd do this turbocharger: AVO Turboworld LLC : 2.5i Turbokit [S2108K07A001T] - $3,400.00

Thanks!

About the hijack lift. not sure.

i bought a console for an aftermarket dual DIN radio. I'll either install nav or a nice radio.

Going on a trip to Boulder (currently in SLC) so maybe i'll find something on the journey.

New Mod: the subaru cubbymount for my Droid Bionic.
I previously used the bionic navigation kit and it would get waaay too hot in the direct sunlight. I haven't been able to try this out yet on a trip, but i like how it looks! the ball on the cubbymount fits the stock Bionic navigation holder perfectly.

There is really no place to use a hi-lift on these cars. I had one on my Taco but it had sliders and after market bumpers. Plus, they are heavy as ****.
i might just have a shovel on one side and a bike rail on the other.
