Dear forum members

Herewidth I would like to start my thread dedicated to newly bought Outback 2,5i Platinium.

I'm 44. living in Poland and Outback is my 3rd Subaru. Here I should mentioned that my second Subaru sleep in my garage (its GC8 WRX STI Type R which I own over 12 years and keep it forever).

I hope this tread might be interesting for some users as it present an ownership of EU specification model, I drive quite a lot of kilometers per year too, will try to describe how it is to live with Outback here in Europe.


My outback is 2,5i Platinium specification - that is the highest spec on Polish market - in crystal black silica - [paint code D4S], and black leather interior. Subaru puts different specification naming depended on the market. Unfortunatelly we did not get a chance to order 2,4DIT as its not available in EU.
Before I pick up the car from dealer I asked to apply a ceramic coating and I'm happy of the results. Car looks amazing.

Dears

Polish roads are salty in the wintertime and cars usually suffer a rusty spots after a while of usage.
Therefore before I pick-up the car from the dealer I ordered a Waxoyl rust protection.
Its a black wax based formula which is applied on the underbody panels, suspension elements. It never get dry and seal the body from environment. Additionally a white cavity wax was applied inside a panels, doors etc.
Every few years it need to be look at and re-apply if needed.


Here is a few pictures taken during this job.

One month of ownership and 4kkm behind the wheel. Few facts and observations from my side:

• as a general statement I love this car, makes me smile, brings calm and relax drive in this crazy times
• family also appreciate a comfortable environment
• it my working horse as I travel for a bussiness purposes across the country
• still keeps a fuel economy on resonable level
• after 4kkm I went for a dealer for 1st oil change - in PL oil which is recommended by dealerships is 5W30 instead of factory provided 0W20
• avarage fuel consumption calculated from 4kkm is 7,8l/100km which is 33,6MPG
• my record run is 5,2 l/100km (distance of 130km) which is transtlating to 47MPG
• but honestly it was the most boring ride in my life
• I received my badge of ownership

Its 98 WRX STI Type R. I imported from Japan in 2010 and converted to LHD due to local restrictions and regulations. Restored completely in 2015 and since than enjoying "new" 24 years legend.
2,0turbo 310HP, DCCD, Classic weekend joy.

Oh dear lord that STI is unreal. So clean and well preserved. And you did a LHD conversion as well? Holy crap. Very nice..

And to your Outback... very nice as well my friend! You even got an oil cooler on the NA motor.. we should have got that as well here in the US. But no....
