This past weekend I installed a double-DIN head unit (from Crutchfield) on our 2006 Outback wagon, with a backup camera. The wiring harness from Crutchfield worked fine, and the install went well. However, there were two connectors that were connected to the OEM head unit that had no provision for on the new double-DIN. Other than the Crutchfield connector mated to the white one on the left, there was one attached to a tab (circled in blue) and a multi-pin connector (circled in red) shown in this pic. What are these circled connectors for, and do they need to be connected in some fashion?

Blue is a chassis ground.

Red might have been for steering wheel control connections or aux input. Perhaps both. Can't recall right off top of my head, will report back when Ive had a chance to check my notes.

Thanks stfsubaru, kind of helpful. My car doesn't have satellite or nav, so presumably those connectors are vestigial in my case.

Sounds like I don't need to worry about the 8-pin connector.

Do I need to figure a way to connect that (blue circle) ground wire to the HU case?
