oem oil filter watch out

2020 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  sixfifty
We have had a few cars towed back to the dealership, more at others across the state for leaking oil. Apparently the gaskets have been failing on them.
WIll post more when I get the info, there might be a bad batch or two of them.

So some of the batches started with a aa and s1. The good part is if they fail it's usually at start up.
I had one blow the seal 3 weeks later so kinda hit or miss there.
We haven't had an issue in a week so could be gone too.
Didn't wanna scare anyone from using the oem filters, just a heads up for the DIYSers.

seems like they had a recall for that several years ago as well.

i've also had an aftermarket filter soil itself in my garage.
