Did the gallery bugs every get fixed? I tried to upload a few months ago and was getting the same errors as others...tried again today and get the same errors.

File upload error. Cannot find uploaded file.

How are people getting thier images uploaded to the gallery and then getting the subaruoutback.org tag auto added?

Hey Daniel,

So you tried to upload and it did not work? What gives, I just uploaded just a week ago?

mmm, is your file small enough (generally around 1000 pixels wide @ 72 dpi) or about 80-120K? Jpeg format (progressive or not will work).

I will post a test and see for myself if it is working. Just as an FYI, I believe Tiff, Gif or any other common image files will not work in the gallery. Ok, onto testing the gallery.

Edit* I see your image is a Jpg image which should work. I doubt the underscore has any effect, leaving the image size as the best guess.

Yes sir, it is working. I have a feeling there is some error with your image, possibly it is just too large. Have a look at the requirements I spelled out above and see if you can identify the problem. If not, you have my email address, so give me a shout.

For my test, I made sure to use an easy to identify test image. How about a nice dainty flower photograph that I shot this morning at work... er, break.

;)

You know, I think the site was getting it's monthly backup this morning which may have screwed it up. I noticed it slowed down considerably when I posted.

A little help here?

I've got a great post for the SUBARU OUTBACK > General > Problems & Maintenance > Oil and Fuel Discussion section. When I cut and paste this code all I get is a link not the picture. (there is no space in the pasted code. put that there to fool the system in to displaying what I wanted)

Can someone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? Then you'll see why a picture of a hard drive makes for a great post in the oil forum :2:

Re: Image Editing Software

Boxxerace said:
Beside's the popular Photoshop @ $599.00 there are a host of free image editors.

Here you are:

Gimp: http://www.gimp.org/index.html

Paint.net: http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/

Krita (part of an open source office): http://www.koffice.org/krita/

Pixia: http://park18.wakwak.com/~pixia/

CinePaint: http://cinepaint.movieeditor.com/ <-- interesting

MtPaint: http://www.btinternet.com/~mark.tyler4/mtpaint/index.html

Lastly, you know you want:

TuxPaint: http://www.newbreedsoftware.com/tuxpaint/
rather than try to figure out which of these is the best, i'll just ask, which one is the best ?

i'm sure that's a subjective question so whick one does more useful stuff ? which one is the easiest to use for editing, resiziing, making color into black and white etc.

thanks, i don't want super complicated, something to play with photos.

FREE! (...w/the purchase of a Mac, that is...)

( :p I'd be kicked out of the super-duper-mac-user club if I didn't say that... :p )

Or you could try Google's Picasa - http://picasa.google.com/

It's free, it's an excellent photo library organizer, and it has enough basic editing tools to get you by. Try it for a few days and see if it has enough for you. It's a Google product, so you know it'll be user-friendly...worst case scenario, you don't like it and you try something else.

Well now I have read this thread.

It's very informative. My camera does the whole 300dpi so I have really large photo files  So that bit about changing the pixels to 72 and the width to 1000 helped out a lot! thanks!

I prefer to use adobe products as well. Another fun photo product is: collage maker 2.05 I just picked that up the other day, and it's pretty fun.
