Noticed that when its very cold -10c and below my car struggles to idle. Lights inside flicker, headlights flicker, ventilation, climate controls, cluster. Whole car basically flickers RPMs aswell they drop to zero sometimes while driving too when breaking. Cleaned IACV and checked my battery while car was off and idle and in rev and everything checks out. So good alternator and battery i THINK. Any idea what the cause could be? Battery when its excessively cold? Vacuum leak?? I have no idea.

Does it go away if you give it just a little more gas?

Is it better once it warms up?

If you put a jump pack on the battery, do the symptoms disappear?

My '02 H6 idled rough as a result of a cracked exhaust manifold gasket. Hot exhaust gases were leaking onto the O2 sensor and fuel trim was therefore incorrect. $12 for a set of 2 exhaust manifold gaskets fixed the problem.

You should also check for good connections and also clean all the engine grounds.
