Hey all,

I have a 2000 legacy wagon 5spd. and its been throwing ancode for engine knock sensor. I picked one up from rock auto and installed it and the code disappeared for the ride home. Next day and its back, doesnt sound like there is any knock. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Defective sensor from Rock Auto. Should've gotten it from Subaru. Is it plugged in tight? Broken/frayed wires?

Cheap brand gas?

When was the last tune up?

Fuel Filter?

Fuel Pump would be the very last thing.

Its only got 70k on it but I do believe its sat for a lil as the last oil change before I got it was in Oct 11 with 65k on the clock. Have new plugs for it, wires are new as I had a mosfire earlier. Ill double check the conection and possibly order one from the dealer. Are defective parts from rock auto common?

Are you aware that the knock sensor needs to be installed at a particular angle/orientation and not just bolted in any old way? If not installed correctly (and it's easy to do), it could just need to be redone.
