I purchased a used Legacy not too long ago. The door was making a strange hollow-like sound so I took it apart. To my surprise there was nothing inside. As in, there was the metal exterior part of the door, wiring and contact points, and then the interior portion of the door you normally place your arm while driving.
Anyone know the name for the fabric that's usually inside car doors?
And of course you know my next question. Anyone know where I can purchase some new fabric, if possible with more noise isolation that the original.
If not an alternative will work. I was considering tossing in a few sheets of burlap

My 16 Outback drivers door was the same. Just had it fixed, apparently there is a service bulletin for it.

They glued some type of foam in the door, had to let it sit there to "cure" and not slam the door. It worked, now sounds solid like the other doors.
