i did it, i busted the lower ball joint pinch bolt on my '00 leagacy L wagon, right front, when i was replacing the wheel bearing.

i looked for the part number at opposedforces.org/parts but i didn't see the bolt in the exploded view. maybe i'll check the 95 - 99 cars.

anyway, i need to replace it and i was wondering what the bolt dimensions are? what about the ''strength'' designation?

thanks,
john

thanks.

not yet, but i plan on heating it up and drilling it from the other end. i'm hoping it will break loose and then spin out. but i guess worst case is buy a replacement from a local yard.

I just waited a week for a spindle from salvage. It had to come out of a yard in Colorado. The bearing outer race seized to the spindle and no amount of torch heat was going to let it loose. My 20 ton press wouldn't budge it.

Good luck getting the bolt out.
