Does someone know where I may get a supply of assorted plastic rivets and removal tool so I may
use them as needed for my 2006 Subaru Outback. The tools are numerous on ebay but for some
reason say they will not work on a 2006 Outback. Thank you!!

I'm not aware of any sources for a prepackaged assortment for Subarus. However, many auto parts stores, and I believe even Lowes (building supplies) carry various sizes and styles of generic rivets. Amazon has listings as well. For a stock of rivets, including specific types by car make and rivet style/dimensions/part number, there's on-line sources such as https://www.clipsandfasteners.com/ . Then, of course, there's the dealers.

In many cases a special tool isn't needed. Some two part rivets use a center pin that lifts by turning with a screwdriver. Other center pins can be pried out with a flat blade screwdriver or narrow automotive trim removal tool (e.g., https://www.amazon.com/Panel-Removal-Tool-pcs-Upholstery/dp/B00LUPOSD4 ). The single type fasteners can usually be pried out with a screwdriver (or two) or a slotted trim tool.

Agree with the mention of Lowes in the post above. I have found ones I have needed there on several occasions.
