I Plasti-dipped my steel winter wheels in Blaze Blue for No Particular Reason At All and the paint's survived two hard winters with only light top up sprays at changeover. I also dipped the fenders all the way up to the grille and light line to cover all the bug and chip damage accumulated over the years. Mask carefully and it can look pretty good - even impressed my SO. I used a blue black on blue paintwork. Did the rear fender too as that gets a lot of knocks from bikes. Plasti Dip isn't armor so it will tear and lift with rough usage but sits tight under the pressure washer as long as you don't get too close; be a bit gentle. If you don't like it, peel if off.
