My wife and I are considering purchasing a 2010 Outback Limited with 86,000 miles. We have never owned a Subaru before, and were wondering if this would be a smart decision. What would the potential likely problems or issues be with this vehicle? CVT transmission, engine, or other drivetrain issues would be my primary concern.

I am very mechanically inclined, and earned my living as a mechanic for a number of years. I have always done my own maintenance and repair work, and would do so on this Outback.

Thanks ahead for any valuable insight!

If you have the ability, you'll be fine with a Subaru. When I had to give up my Volvo 240s I switched to Subaru, to me they are very easy to work on.
