2005 Outback 2.5i with 88k miles.

Just had the HG / TB / CATS / O2 sensors / rear wheel bearings done. 3k miles since repair, no issues / leaks / etc. (1700.00)

What's the approximate life expectancy now? Good for another 88k miles or more?

What's been the average for those of you who've had the HG's replaced....did they blow again?

Wondering if I need another mason jar labeled "head gaskets 2014"....

2001 right smack in the middle of the massive bad gasket mess. 65K when the driver side head was pulled cleaned - and new gasket put in place. The leak was spotted early very slight coolant leak zero issues with the engine or ever getting hot. At 180,000 miles it was perfectly fine. Gasket was done by a Subaru dealer

If the job was done correctly and with the right parts, providing the car didn't overheat...I'd say they should last a good long time.

If not...then it is a crap shoot.

Thanks for the speedy replies. The HG's were done by a Subie dealer..so I'm pretty confident that they're going to be ok. I will definitely keep the forums posted if something should change..
