My radio stopped working in my 03 bean. It's the 6 disc changer with the On-star. I found a unit for a 2015 WRX pn: 86201va620 and was wondering if swapping them out would be doable without a bunch of reworking of wiring etc.

On a side note I have searched , but besides the fuse ,is there something that might be a minor fix on the old radio that I may have missed such as an internal fuse or a known issue? Thanks

You will definitely have to create your own wiring harness to interface from old to new. Assuming that's a standard double-din hole in both of the vehicles and it will physically fit.

Can it physically fit? Sure.

Is it plug and play? Absolutely not.

was it free?
No, but cheap <$50

Thanks, I kind of figured it was wishful thinking that it might.

I have not done a car stereo install in a long time and was looking for a cheap easy fix.
It's like the car wants just a little more TLC as I just got done doing a new exhaust, brakes and tires, ha!

Update: I just bought a OEM stock replacement for $45. Thanks for the input.
