Has anyone taken the rear seat back protector for the 2010-2013 outback and installed it on an earlier model?

sorry for digging up an old thread here, but I am interested in this as well. I have a 2009 OB and I would like to know if I can use one of these on mine. Here is one I found on Ebay and after sending an email to the seller he/she said that Subaru didn't make these for the '09 model.

Does anyone know if these will work on the '09 even if it wasn't made specifically for it?

I don't think it is possible, my solution in the end was some type of mat that I just throw over the seats. Every weekend I load it up with plenty of crap and it has been great so far. I wish I could tell you what it was... but a friend had a lot of it and let me have a roll.
