Tomorrow I’m installing a 2” lift (2” front, 1.5” rear) on our 2017 Outback and I have one lingering question that I cannot find a definitive answer to. For those of you who have installed your own lift: Are the two bolts at the top of the strut hat, that you bolt the spacer to, tac welded to the strut, or can they be easily removed? I have a set of rallitek 1/2 spacers that came with new hardware, and I’m wondering if it is as easy as backing out the factory bolts and adding the longer ones, or if the factory bolts are tac welded in place and I’m going to need to grind down the weld to remove the old bolts. Any insight is much appreciated!

Use a rubber mallet to remove them (OEM ones) and then install the ones that came with the rallitek spaces. Easily done.
