I have a 2017 Outback 2.5ltr Petrol Automatic. On many occasions (but not always) the rear view camera display on the audio/navigation monitor stays on after reversing when the gear shift lever is moved into Drive. I can not use the monitor for any other function. The only solution is to stop the car , turn off ignition and start again and then everything returns to normal.

You can go to Subaru's website and enter your VIN to see if there is something applicable to your car:

Even if a recall isn't applicable to your car, a malfunctioning rear view camera is considered a safety problem so I would take it to the dealer.
