Hi All,

Newby John here from Australia. Just installed a factory Towbar (hitch in USA!) on my 2009 OB Premium Pack. Bit of a job! The hitch came with a bunch of pics but no real instructions. If it hadn't been for this site it never would have happened.

Anyway, the hitch is on and I'm now installing a Tekonsha brake contoller. But I can't get the inner door sill off, to get the wire to the back of the car. The outer door sill (with Subaru printed on it) just clips off but the plastic trim over the wiring channel has just defeated me.

I had a look at the illuminated sill install instructions from subaru parts. What is shows is that you need to lift and pull towards the back of the car. But it doesn't work. I had to stop and have a Bourben cos I was getting so frustrated!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm gonna break it if I keep it up.

Cheers, John

are you talking about the plastic, conduit like stuff that runs under the carpet on the driver side? i would probably not bother and run a heavier gauge shielded wire next to it or on top and call it a day.

and yes, a bourbon would be good when you finish.
