Replacing a 2.5L engine with a 3.0L

I have a cracked head on my '03 Outback 2.5L, how much of a problem is it "upgrading" to a 3.0L engine?

Are there compatibility issues with the transmission? Computer? Does anyone have any experience in this kind of thing?

Get rebuilt 2.5 drop it in and save your self some money. Heck I could afford to go out and pay cash for a new 911 today and wouldn't even want to spend the time and money trying to fit a 3L into a 2.5 OB.

Thanks for the quick response. Ok, was just wondering if it required much more, and hadn't done any research (just lazy, I guess).

BTW was also a Sub Sailor.. 90-01, nuke ET.
