I need to replace afront drive axle. It's a high mileage vehicle ( 230k ) so I'm sure I should replace other related components while at. So, couple of questions . .

1) what else should I replace at the same time? ball joint, I assume, but what else?

2) remanufactured drive axles run as low as 55$ on the internet or $100 at NAPA; are these good enough? I would think the napa part would be quality, but i'm open to suggestions.

Thanks.

Ball joint is a maybe, 200k on my wagon and they are both still fine.

NAPA part is working fine on mine, I did have to try 2 before finding one where the roll-pin holes lined up.

You have to try both orientations on tjhe roll-pins sometimes, on the 1st one it did not work either way.

The NAPA one did not come with the small splash shield, I transferred it from the old axle to the napa axle.
