Hi I just bought the free spirit adventure series 55" RTT. The tent itself weighs 110 lbs. My dilemma is the stock rack is limited to about 150 lbs. This tent is designed to where the entire tent rests on the roof and not fold out where part of the weight is supported by the roof and the other by the ladder.
Has anyone used a rtt with the stock rack and have you had any issues. Any recommendations on an aftermarket rack.
I've heard of an outback conversion for a whole new rack system but was told that it's not done for a 2011.
Any info and suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Yakima made rail posts that install into the socket and use the bolt from the stock rails. Thats what I would do. The factory bars are 150lbs in transit and I think I read some place that static weight could be over 400 easily ie people in the tent etc. lots of rrts are used on Subarus with zero issues
