Changing rotors and brakes on 2016 Forester. Difficulty removing even with 8mm screws on old rotors. Once out, couldn't fit new or old rotors back on over parking brake. Loosened parking brake to shortest distance at bottom and removed boot in cabin to loosen wire, still a "no go at this station". What next... Anybody?

Check and compare rotors to make sure they are the correct ones. Parts stores mess up constantly.

You may have to manhandle the drum brake parts to get them set to the smaller diameter - rust/crud can make resetting them difficult. It's also easy to get them off center, so sometimes you need to finesse them a bit to fit everything together. It helps to adjust them a lot, much more than is sufficient to remove the old rotors.
