I have 2010 outback w 125k miles. every 8-12 months, the brake, cruise, traction control and check engines lights all flash randomly. Car continues to operate, so we finish our task, park it, and disconnect the battery to reset the (brain fart). All previous resets resulted in no problems.
This time after reset, it starts hard, barely runs when it finally fires, and needs foot feed to stay running. It stumbles, and almost dies when the foot feed stops.
Have not replaced timing belt yet, have had regular dealer service within the past 10k miles as well.

hard starts are typical after disconnecting the battery.

are there any codes? (ECU codes, Transmission codes,....any other codes?,....those can get erased when disconnecting the battery)

why have you not replaced the timing belt KIT?
(the whole kit, not just the belt,...as other components seize and break a brand new belt)

just waiting for something to break and you can throw the engine or the whole car away? subaru wanted that changed at 105,000 miles / 105 months, though many would change it sooner.

you maybe having a CVT transmission problem also. maybe still under extended warranty for a few more months.
